Our background history

The Kotzé Family opened  their first fabric shop in Saldanha in 1989 and soon expanded to Mooreesburg, Ceres and Beaufort West. All four branches were brought together into one business in Durbanville where after the Kotzé family relocated to Hazyview in 2000 to also manage their tourism company.

In 2013, Willim Kotzé opened the Vereeniging branch where he focused on machine sales, services and repairs. He also started Quiltsew’s quilting division. In 2015 he moved the Hazyview branch to Vereeniging as Johan and Magda retired for a more relaxed lifestyle and in 2016 Maria joined the shop full time. 

Quiltsew now boasts a broad selection of Quilting fabrics and accessories and has expanded into selling second hand machines, embroidery machines, equipment and spares.

On 1 March 2021 QUILTSEW relocated to the Prime Business Park in Vanderbijlpark, growing and going forward.
